Phase II Fundraising
The Menomonie High School Sports Complex Capital Campaign is an ongoing project to raise funds for the continued building and expansion the sports complex at Menomonie High School. Efforts at fundraising are presently centered around Phase II of the complex, which involves lights for the stadium. The School District of the Menomonie Area has pledged to pay for half of the cost of the lights, with the other half of the cost to be paid by private donations.
Phase I of the complex included the construction of a nine lane track as well as a field for soccer and lower level football. (The Photo above is the Phase I ground breaking ceremony.)The capital campaign raised over $650,000 in donations from hundreds of individuals and businesses in Menomonie. The School District of the Menomonie Area contributed $500,000 for completion of Phase I of the Complex. The complex opened in 2017 and hosted track meets that spring, and football/soccer events that fall. Upon completion of Phase II of the project, which is lighting, fundraising efforts will begin for Phase III, which includes restroom and concessions facilities as well as bleachers.
The School District and the volunteer fundraising team, the Menomonie Community Athletic Complex Group, has teamed up with the Community Foundation of Dunn County to manage public donations towards this project. If you would like to make a donation to this fund, the good news is that all gifts are tax deductible to the extent provided for by law, and the Community Foundation will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes.
