Goal: To achieve this goal, we agree on a set of shared assumptions on how to work together!

  1. Value diversity in all its forms.
  2. Operate with the assumption of goodwill. Agree to assume neutral intent.
  3. Operate with the understanding that we have common goals.
  4. Trust the process, question the path.
  5. Share the workload. (As equitably as possible).
  6. Volunteer joyfully for tasks that align with your skill set and interest.
  7. Share your professional “triggers” so that others can respond in ways that are helpful.
  8. Be timely in responses. Prioritize your teammates. Respond directly, (as appropriate) with acknowledgment and feedback as needed.
  9. Let others know if you need help.
  10. Speak your own truth.
  11. Share your thoughts. If your gut tells you to speak up, speak up! None of us are mind readers.
  12. It’s okay to change your mind after reflection.
  13. Be transparent.
  14. Be aware that silence might mean something. Help your teammates find their voice. Push past your own fears and speak up.
  15. Let everyone’s voice be heard. Set the table for everyone.
  16. Share your biases with your teammates.
  17. Be aware that pride and ego are professional hazards that can trip us up if we are not careful.
  18. Be aware of “power balancing” and how it can impact our work.
  19. Respect the time and space needed for thoughtful reflection of ideas.
  20. Lean into the process. Trust your teammates.
