The Community Foundation of Dunn County is pleased to offer Teacher Mini Grants to staff and faculty of local school districts. Deadline is November 1st.
Faculty and staff of the school districts across Dunn County, including Boyceville, Colfax, Elk Mound, and Menomonie, are invited to apply for grant funding from the Community Foundation. Competitive grants will be awarded to teachers, public education support professionals, and/ or staff to support school projects that promote learning and improve the overall academic achievement of students. Funding is awarded annually through a competitive, mini-grant program for requests such as:
- Innovative projects that engage and motivate students and improve their academic success
- Collaborative projects between classes/schools or with community organizations and businesses
- Tangible program materials that will continue to serve the district beyond the grant period
SDMA Special Consideration for History/Culture Related Requests – Up to $1,000 from the Kari Jo Bostrom Memorial Fund is available each year to support mini-grant requests for projects in areas that Kari was passionate about – including history-related experiences or research projects, field trips to area museums or veterans’ memorials, or projects that immerse students into various cultures or the arts. This funding is limited to SDMA Applicants.
The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 1st, 2021 by 4pm. Funding decisions will be made within (8) weeks of the deadline, and funds will be issued to the school district in December for disbursement. Grant funding cannot be used for reimbursements and should be used to support programs or projects scheduled for either this spring or next fall.
New this year is an optional crowd funding opportunity. We believe in the power of community support. By making your grant application publicly accessible, we can tap into the collective generosity of the public through crowdfunding. This not only increases awareness of your project but also enhances the potential to secure additional funding from a wider audience.
This is not a requirement. If you select this option, your request will be added to our Grant Catalog. The catalog will be available through our donor portal to our donor-advised fund holders, and on our website, throughout the month of November. You will see specific questions you must complete (in addition to the grant application) that will create your Grant Catalog entry. Here is an example of what it will look like:
Applications are only open to faculty of the eligible schools. Typical grant awards range from $250 to $1,000 each. The submission deadline is Friday, November 1st, 2024 sat 4pm. Limit one application per staff member. We ask that all applications be completed electronically via the online grants portal. Please contact the Community Foundation if you have any questions at 715.232.8019 or email us at info@cfdunncounty.org.
