Excellence in Education Teacher Mini Grant Program

The Menomonie Area Public Schools Excellence in Education Fund is pleased to offer teachers and counselors in the Menomonie Area School District the opportunity to apply for educational grant funding to enhance the learning of all students by awarding monetary grants to teachers, public education support professionals, and/ or staff for the following purposes:

  • Innovative projects that seek to engage and motivate students to be active participants in their learning and improve the academic achievement of students
  • Participation in high-quality professional development experiences, or
  • Innovative projects between schools and businesses

Application Process & Criteria

The Excellence in Education Fund is managed by the Community Foundation of Dunn County.  All grant applications must be shared with the District Administrator before submission.  Final grant award decisions are made by the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The application is available online and the link is shared through the School District Office.  The grant deadline is November 1st each year and will continue annually through the life of the fund.

  • Grant award amounts range from $250-$1,500 each. Requests must be no less than $250.
  • The grants are intended to fund a proposed project, and not a specific staff member.
  • Grant checks will be made out to the School District of the Menomonie Area. Any tangible items purchased are to remain the property of the school.
  • An individual teacher or staff member may only submit one application per year and cannot be the exact same grant as another applicant’s submission. 

*Kari Jo Bostrom Memorial Fund to Support Culture/History Related Requests*

Up to $1,000 from the Kari Jo Bostrom Memorial Fund is available each year to support requests for district projects in areas that Kari was passionate about – to include history-related experiences or research, field trips to area museums or veterans’ memorials, or projects that immerse students into various cultures or the arts.  Click here for complete details about this specific fund.

How to Apply

Applications are available at the link below, and the link is also shared through the SDMA district administrator’s office.  The annual deadline is November 1st of each year.  All applicants will be notified of funding status within 6-8 weeks of the deadline.
