Sometimes it is humble/basic things like tables and chairs that really make a difference to people in our community. Pooling funding from the Community Foundation and Menomonie Sunrise Rotary made it possible for the Shirley Doane Senior Center to purchase dining room tables and chairs, which provide safer and more comfortable seating for the seniors. We’re proud to be part of the effort!
The much-needed improvement to the dining room at the Leisure Services Building means that guests can be accommodated with safer and more comfortable seating for the senior centers weekly Community Friendship Dinner and many fundraising dining events. The Senior Center serves more than 5,000 meals a year, all prepared by volunteers in the certified commercial kitchen.
