Byron and Catherine Olson established a Field of Interest fund at the Community Foundation by bequest to help those who may have fallen through the cracks receive the medical care or services they need. In 2016, the fund supported the Wisconsin Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy, a two-day clinic which provided 6,280 free dental procedures for 1,064 children and adults in western Wisconsin.
In 2015, the Byron & Catherine Olson Fund helped bring the Nurse-Family Partnership Program to Dunn County. This evidence-based community health program strives to empower low-income, first-time mothers to become confident parents and strong women by pairing them with a registered nurse who provides home visits from early in pregnancy until the child’s second birthday.
