This award is made possible through the Barb Schmelzle Promise Award for Women Fund. One award of up to $1,000 will be granted to assist a non-traditional, female student experiencing financial need who has experienced extreme and adverse life experiences make progress towards furthering her education in any field.

  • Nontraditional students are defined as students who did not go directly to college the fall following high school; are returning to college after a break in studies to complete their degree; or are changing careers to pursue other employment options.
  • This scholarship is to be used to remove barriers to the pursuit of your educational endeavors. Please provide a list of the specific education-related expenses that will be paid for with this award, such as college textbooks, technical supplies, upcoming tuition, past due tuition, fees for licensing exams, etc.
  • Letter of Reference

    Please provide a Letter of Reference from someone not related to you who can speak to your skills, character, life experience, and/or achievements in relation to this award.
