Barb Schmelzle Promise Award for Women Application - Community Foundation of Dunn County

This award is made possible through the Barb Schmelzle Promise Award for Women Fund. One award of up to $1,000 will be granted to assist a non-traditional, female student experiencing financial need who has experienced extreme and adverse life experiences make progress towards furthering her education in any field.

Nontraditional students are defined as students who did not go directly to college the fall following high school; are returning to college after a break in studies to complete their degree; or are changing careers to pursue other employment options.
Preference will be given to women with demonstrated financial need. Do you currently qualify for any state or federal low-income assistance programs such as FoodShare, Free/Reduced School Lunches for your dependents, Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance, etc.?

This scholarship is to be used to remove barriers to the pursuit of your educational endeavors. Please provide a list of the specific education-related expenses that will be paid for with this award, such as college textbooks, technical supplies, upcoming tuition, past due tuition, fees for licensing exams, etc.

- Individual Award - the check would be made out to you, with the requirement that you submit one or more reports to the Foundation about how the funds were used.
- Scholarship Award - the check will be made out to the educational institution of your choice, upon proof of enrollment, with no follow-up reports required.
