Dear Friends of the Free Clinic,
The last few years have been a challenge for many individuals and organizations and the Free Clinic of the Greater Menomonie Area is no exception. Despite many challenges, the Free Clinic has been able to serve the needs of community members that are uninsured or underinsured due to your financial
support and volunteer time. The health care needs of the community are great and we humbly ask you to consider a year-end financial gift to the Free Clinic.
The Free Clinic of the Greater Menomonie Area opened in 2005 and completed its 17th year as a free clinic in Wisconsin. Over this time, the clinic served over 4,000 unique patients with more than 12,565 visits. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a new appointment model was
also made available in addition to in-person visits. Recently, the Free Clinic received a grant that has allowed us to expand coverage for behavioral health counseling. This important service has been very beneficial to our community and
patients.
The Free Clinic continues to provide the following services to patients at no cost to them:
∙ Clinic visits with a primary care provider
∙ Laboratory and x-ray testing for both diagnostic and screening purposes
∙ Medications
∙ Dental care
∙ Referrals as needed for specialty care, physical therapy, behavioral health counseling, chiropractic care and eye care
Due to the pandemic, the Free Clinic canceled planned fundraisers in 2020 and 2021. Recently we held a scaled back but successful fundraiser at Cottage Winery and Vineyard. Despite the loss of fundraising events, the organization has remained in a strong position as we have implemented cost-saving measures and used reserve funds from previous years.
The importance of reserved funds and consistent income has been critical to remaining open and solvent. To this end, the Free Clinic is establishing an endowment fund through the Community Foundation of Dunn County. This is a long term
strategy to achieve more financial stability as proceeds from the investment earnings will provide a steady income stream. Please consider giving to this endowment fund to ensure continued future health services to those who need them.
