The Community Foundation of Dunn County will be hosting the second meeting for Hope Builders on:
July 14th from 5:00-7:00 at the Menomonie Public Library (just in time for Music Over Menomin).
This meeting’s theme is “The Younger Years”, which will focus on our youngest students (kindergarten/preschool). Are you interested in finding out how our 3-5 year olds are doing? Are they prepared for kindergarten? What will our schools need to help them succeed? Do you want to hear stories from the front line community health workers who supported low income women and children during the past 2 years?
Hear directly from our panel of local experts:
Beth Tilleson, Menomonie Head Start
Grace Poliak, WIC
Kari Quilling, Nurse Family Partnership
Then, we will take a stroll and experience the library’s brand new Storybook Walk with library staff to talk about literacy and the Younger Years.
Enjoy refreshments on the lawn to discuss “Investing in Dreams” – learning about Child Savings Accounts and why they could create positive change in Dunn County. Luisa Gerasimo from Youth Forward Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension will lead us in this discussion.
Stay to enjoy some music over Lake Menomin following this event!
