Kathleen Piatz Memorial Scholarship

Kathleen PiatzKathleen Piatz taught in the Menomonie School District for 27 years until she retired in 2015.  She spent most of those years at Knapp Elementary. Her classroom was her second home and her students her second family. She expected the best from her students and that is what they gave her. She never gave up on a child. Her greatest joy was seeing the light in the eyes of a student who had been struggling with a new concept and finally grasp it.  Above all, she loved sharing her passion for reading. She believed reading was the foundation of education and she did everything she could to instill a lifelong love of reading in her students.

Her family and friends have established this scholarship in her memory to help others to continue her legacy.
