In 2008, the Dunn County Historical Society applied and received a grant through the Community Foundation to create the Harry A. Miller exhibit at their facility located at Wakanda Park in Menomonie. The Historical Society wanted to create this exhibit to honor the self-taught machinist from Menomonie whose mechanical genius paved the way for streamline race car driving.

Harry Miller was an engineering visionary who almost single-handedly transformed the face of American car racing. His innovative spark plugs and carburators were his earliest and most vital contributions towards this culture craft. Later on, his cars and engines dominated U.S. competitions both on land and water for over 40 years. The exploration of Miller’s many contributions to automotive design is educated at the Historical Society facility through panels, video presentations, and through several artifacts that symbolize milestones throughout Miller’s career.
