Gifts to the Community Foundation’s unrestricted fund are used to make grants to qualified organizations throughout the year. Funds are professionally invested for long term growth and only the earnings on those funds are used to make grants. Since the first grant was awarded in 1997, more than $260,000 has been distributed through the competitive grant process.
